Devprayag is the holy confluence of Alaknanda and Bhagirathi, beyond which she flows as the Ganges.

A little ways away, downstream from Devprayag, along the left bank at Vyasghat, is a stretch of isolated river beach lost in time as heralded by the 250-year-old Banyan tree. This is the setting of an adventure and rejuvenation of a lifetime; we introduce you to Banyan by the Ganges.

Banyan by the Ganges consists of 12 well appointed swiss tent-cottages, 6 of them river facing and the others with a view of the mountains. True to the landscape it exists in, the retreat has surprising nooks and corners at every bend which offer themselves unto you a relaxing and contemplative time.  The Riverstone Diner and Lounge is the perfect place to unwind with our soulful food, strum a note or two, pick up a book from our small but interestingly curated library or just walk down to the river beach.

After a relaxing and contemplative time in this paradise, if you are hungry for some action, Banyan by the Ganges is the perfect stopover for the ones going further up the Himalayas on treks, for leisure or on a spiritual journey Auli, Tungnath, Chopta, Khirsu, Badrinath, Kedarnath among many others.

Our expert guides will be happy to take you on their own secret treks nearby our very own Banyan by the Ganges . Contact us to know more…

Nature and Village walks are at the heart of the Banyan by the Ganges Experience, allowing you a glimpse of rural living in remote mountain regions and the vast range of vegetation specific to the area. Our walks are the perfect antidote to the frenetic world that most of us live in.

Banyan by the Ganges is garlanded by many quaint Garhwali villages . One such moderate 3-4 hour walk leads upto the village of Naugaon. The beautiful and friendly people of this village will welcome you into their homes and conversations and make you feel at ease. We can arrange for tea and a picnic lunch to be enjoyed in this bucolic setting.

Another such walk, albeit much easier at about 2 hours takes you to the Bagi fishing village. It is ideal to have an early start and reach there just as the fisherfolk have started to cast their nets to start the day.

Vacations are a time for culinary indulgence, memories of aroma and taste that comfort us for decades to come. We welcome you on two such journeys with the exotic Kongu Cuisine at Coco Lagoon, Pollachi and the exuberant Rajasthani Cuisine at Devra, Udaipur.

Pollachi means blessed with wealth. This ancient Tamil name harks at the richness of the land, in the generosity it bestows on its children via rich harvest of delectable ingredients year on year. The people of Kongu land have used this to their advantage to create some exquisite cuisines, slightly differing over the various regions of the kingdom and mastered by our Chefs at the Coco Lagoon, Pollachi.

To the undiscerning alimentary novice, the vast Tamil Nadu is pigeonholed only by the cuisine of one city, Chettinadu cuisine of Karaikudi. But the cibarious masters would smirk at such a thought. The Kongu cuisine is the cynosure of the Tamil Nadu gastronomy. Being the creation of a vast, arid and inland region, the Kongu cuisine derives its unique flavours from the extensive use of sesame seeds, groundnuts, dry coconut, dry ginger and roasted turmeric. The cuisine is rich in vegetarian options as it is in meat eats. Unlike its more spicy and oily counterpart, the Chettinadu cuisine, Kongu cuisine is subtle and nutritious, owing to the generous usage of pulses and millets.

Set in a sanguine environment with a beautiful lake and surrounded by the vast coconut grooves, Coco Lagoon is luxury in the lap of nature. We welcome you to experience the bounty of the land exploring the Kongu cuisine, not just by relishing it, but also immersing in the guided cooking classes conducted by the best Kongu Chefs at Coco Lagoon.

With its variety and palette, Kongu cuisine is definitely a must for the culinary buffs.

Summer is a season of change and movement. With reducing green cover and dwindling water resources, the wild animals and birds start their migration in search of greener pastures. With schools out and long vacations, we want to migrate to richer experiences too. Come experience the homeland of Mowgli and relive the Jungle Book. The Jungles of Central India are hotbeds for experiencing the wilderness like nowhere else. We welcome families and student groups to get out of the concrete jungle and walk about in the woods of Kanha and Satpura Tiger Reserves. The Young Rangers Program conducted by Singinawa Jungle Lodge, Kanha and the Junior Rangers Program at Forsyth Jungle Lodge, Satpura is perfect for student groups and for families with kids for an ideal summer getaway with a difference.
